Specializations

Sage/Consular:

Sages are individuals, frequently Jedi Knights who have completed their apprenticeship, which possess a unique talent, comprehension and skill in a vast array of force abilities. These individuals serve as mentors for academic students; honing their skills in The Force. Additionally, Sages often serve as instructors and observers of Force matches between students to both test skills and stress students beyond their limits. Sages are known for their soft natures and peaceful mentalities. Often they spend time meditating or studying the force. Sages are known for their kind hearts and wisdom regarding their mentorship over others, and will often serve as a balance toward the Guardians more abrasive natures. Together, a Sage and a Guardian bring wisdom and strength. Some Sages are known for their study of the Dark Side, and are permitted such discretionary access under the right circumstances. However, these studies are closely monitored to ensure the knowledge is used as a preventative measure, and not to corrupt or mislead other Jedi. These individuals are respected even by Jedi Masters and Council members for their clear mastery over the full potency of the force. They may, at times, be used as battle healers or even advisors to others during war and peace.

Sentinel:

Sentinels are individuals, frequently Jedi Knights who have completed their apprenticeship, which possess a unique talent, comprehension and skill in a vast array of stealth, investigation, and law. These individuals serve as mentors for academic students; honing their skills in both saber abilities and the force, but also politics and law. Additionally, Sentinels often serve as instructors and observers of trials related to cunning and espionage. Sentinels are known for their inquisitive natures and dedication to intricate details. Often they spend time meditating or serving as representatives of justice for the Jedi order, and possible even the galaxy by request. Sentinels are known for their persistence and dedication to solve mysteries as well as their cleverness. Some sentinels are known for their study of the Dark Side, and are permitted such discretionary access under the right circumstances, to better serve them in the field. However, these studies are closely monitored to ensure the knowledge is used as a preventative measure, and not to corrupt or mislead other Jedi. These individuals are respected even by Jedi Masters and Council members for their ingenuity. They may, at times, be used as assassins, or even insurgents in times of war or peace. Sometimes they serve as commanders and generals, and often partake in policing. Some sentinels become Temple Guards.

Archivist:

An Archivist is an individual, frequently Jedi Knights, either Guardians or Sages(though more often the latter) who have completed their apprenticeship, which possess a unique talent, comprehension and skill for sorting, categorizing and preserving Lore within the academy archives. These individuals serve as protectors of ancient Jedi secrets, knowledge and artifacts in the Orders possession. Students within the academy are frequently expected to complete trials provided by Archivists which often include research, analysis, study and either written or oral presentations. Archivists typically maintain a calm demeanor when faced with assisting academy students, however any form of disrespect for Jedi Lore or the academy archives and artifacts frequently results in dire consequences, including punitive measures. Their primary duty is to the Jedi Order, and the preservation of Jedi knowledge. Any disputes or inquiries involving Jedi culture and history is best settled by referencing an Archivist when they are available to settle the debate. Given their more neutral status within the Order, Archivists may be called upon to serve as judicial delegates, diplomats or overseers of challenges between Jedi. Even a Jedi Master and members of the council will submit to the judgement of an Archivist if their conclusions prove valid. While provided such power in these circumstance, an Archivist must recognize that they do not command or possess the right to order Jedi or the Council to accept such judgement; that their judgement rests solely based upon respect for their keen and unique skill at referencing Jedi culture, law and history with a zealous accuracy matched by very few. Outside of the Academy, an Archivist often serves as a seeker of knowledge and artifacts, guardians and protectors of Jedi relics during times of war or battle, and often resources for reference for their betters. While possessing the potency of judgement, and a unique ability for a comprehension of Jedi Lore, Archivists are found as secondary advisors or diplomatic envoys due to their sheer focus upon a pure academic perspectives rather than the study of saber techniques and force abilities for practical application.

Guardian:

Guardians are individuals, frequently Jedi Knights, who have completed their apprenticeship, which possess a unique talent, comprehension and skill in all forms of saber combat. These individuals serve as mentors for academic students; honing their skills in the various forms of saber combat. Additionally, Guardians often serve as instructors and observers of saber matches between students to both test skills and stress students beyond their limits. Guardians are known for their vicious, abrasive nature towards students who demonstrate a clear lack of commitment and control during saber lessons. While this is sometimes questioned in the Jedi Order, the concepts are more military styled given the nature of their specialization. Such methods are strictly for discipline, but are closely monitored. These individuals are respected even by Jedi Masters and Council members for their clear mastery over the full potency of a Lightsaber. They may, at times, be used as squad and group leaders during frontal assaults in times of war or battle. Often a Guardian may be tasked to take out specific military targets during battle, or to serve as personal guards or even as Jedi Temple Guards.

Beastmaster:

Beastmasters are individuals, frequently Jedi Knights, either Guardians or Saves (though more often the latter) who have completed their apprenticeship, which possess a unique talent, comprehension and skill in dominating and controlling wild beasts through the Force. These individuals serve to challenge students with their vast array of creatures they have captured and secured. Additionally, Beastmasters often serve as instructors and observers of beast matches between their collected array of creatures and academy students to both test skills and stress students beyond their limits. Beastmasters are known for their blunt, more anti-social mentalities. These individuals are respected even by Jedi Masters and Council members for their clear mastery over most beasts. They may, at times, be used to launch assaults, ambushes and support on a battlefield, with their array of creatures at their command. They often serve as a unique squad during times of war or battle. Often a Beastmaster may be tasked in unique tactical applications to remove obstacles, clear enemies and dispose of enemy units which may prove overly challenging for standard Jedi forces.

Instructor:

An Instructor is an individual tasked with the assessment of students. These individuals have completed their own trials and apprenticeship under a Jedi Knight or Master, and have been recognized as uniquely gifted as instructors and facilitators of trials for academic students from arrival as Younglings to graduation as Apprentices. These individuals do not represent a rank within the standard hierarchy of the Jedi Order, but they are frequently Jedi Knights acting as mentors within the academy. These individuals are not hindered from attaining the status of Jedi Master, and they may possess a unique opportunity as an Instructor to prove their abilities as capable trainers of Jedi. This may serve to enhance their value within the Order as potential candidates for advancement towards the status of Jedi Master. As Instructors, these individuals may receive specific guidance from a Jedi Master or a Council Member for the purpose of offering a new gathering of recruits as candidates for apprenticeship to the specified individual. Regarding training and methodology, so long as the ideals of the Jedi Order are upheld, an Instructor is never questioned, especially in front of their students. The position is a sign of trust and prestige unique to the Jedi Order.

Wayfarer:

Wayfarers epitomize a distinct path within the Jedi Order, marked by their exceptional skills, profound understanding of the Force,, and a unique mindset that transcends traditional roles. Emerging predominantly from the ranks of accomplished Jedi Knights who have completed their rigorous training, Wayfarers are not just skilled warriors and Force users, but also exemplify a deep commitment to exploration, service, and the Jedi ideals of peace and justice.

The title of Wayfarer is not merely bestowed upon achieving mastery in combat and Force abilities, but also on demonstrating a mindset that aligns with the ethos of the Wayfarer. These Jedi have proven themselves through significant contributions outside the walls of the Jedi Temple, showing a readiness to venture into the galaxy's far reaches, responding to the Force's guidance and the needs of civilizations they encounter.

Recognized by the Council for their exemplary service and insightful contributions to the Order, Wayfarers are granted a unique mandate: the freedom to roam independently, undertaking missions and quests that require diplomacy, wisdom, and courage in equal measure. They serve as emissaries of the Jedi Council, offering guidance and assistance to communities in need, and providing crucial insights into galactic affairs during times of peace and conflict alike.

The Wayfarer's journey is characterized by versatility and adaptability, navigating through different cultures and landscapes to uphold the Jedi Code's principles. Their autonomy is tempered by responsibility, understanding that they may be called upon at any moment to return to Ossus or any world where their presence is essential to safeguarding peace and the Jedi Order's values.
